A chuppah truly feels like a canopy with lots of ruffles of orchids hanging from above, and that’s exactly what Talia and Jacob wanted for their Lombardi House celebration. The chuppah stood on chic mirrored legs for a modern accent, and we lined the aisle with more pretty white flowers. Taking place during the pandemic, this intimate and joyous event was a perfect example that bigger doesn’t mean better. What we focused on is adding volume where we could – like the lush and generous fringes of orchids on the chuppah, and an overflowing ceiling installation of even more orchids in the reception venue. The Alexandria is one of the many historical buildings in Los Angeles with rich details of a bygone era: Carved-wood molding, hardwood floors, gorgeous chandeliers, and grand archways. For Cassandra and Zachary’s wedding we brought sumptuous greenery and accents of white and pink florals to offset the venue’s traditional lines, for a beautiful combination of style and texture. A focal point of the ceremony space is a fireplace with an incredible carved mantel. Gold molding surrounding the mantel compliments the dazzling crystal chandeliers. We lined the aisle with boxes full of greenery and touches of roses, brightening the space with their vivid color. Shared interests bring wedding couples together, and in the case of Corina and Jonathan, the shared in common their various travels across the world. We flanked a gorgeous seating chart display of a mirrored map of the world with white pillars topped with organic arrangements of blush, white, and pink roses and hurricane candles. We also created a set of custom gold arches, decorated with lush garlands of roses and greenery. We hung signage and photos of the bride and groom’s engagement session from the arches, for a high-impact way to greet guests. The arches are an excellent example of what we can create with our fabrication team. We have a workshop dedicated to welding and building such set-pieces to... Read More

Event designers think a lot about chairs. Yes, chairs. Back in the day, choices for seating for special events were few – as in, two types of chairs: folding and chiavari. Now, you have chameleon, Louis IV, Ghost chairs…the list goes on! This diverse array of colors and shapes in event chairs gives designers more elements to play with. For Alyson and Philip’s big day at Monarch Beach, we provided rich, textural white florals with touches of greenery to provide a pretty counterpoint to sleek, sophisticated black “Washington” and “Dior” chairs. Along with neutral linens and soft drapery, their wedding reception looked like a classy supper club. For the ceremony, we created a chuppah fitting of the breezy seaside lawn,... Read More
