Beachside Beauty at Terranea

When we think of the beach, we think light, airy, and pretty. That’s exactly what Ramsey and Amy asked for when we designed their July beachside wedding at Terranea Resort. We focused on white cherry blossoms as our main inspiration, creating trees from scratch with branch after branch of this delicate flowering tree. Two trees graced the beginning of their wedding aisle, and more cherry branches perched asymmetrically on the wedding arch that served as a backdrop to their vows. In the ballroom, more trees towered from round gold-and-mirrored tables, complemented by ivory and gold chairs. More white flowers served as ‘runners’ in the middle of long dining tables dressed with crisp ivory linens. And finally, the star of the... Read More

A Whimsical Forest at the Fairmont

April 23, 2024 1:06 pm

Guests found themselves in a chic and stylish forest when they walked into Bahar and Simon’s wedding reception. The ballroom at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar was totally transformed with lush greenery hanging from the ceiling and a tree made of hydrangeas greenery soaring from the round bar. Whimsical white balls sprung from round tables, and the long tables featured sloping ‘runways’ of white and green roses. Along with the greenery installed above the glossy white dance floor, we added moss covered shapes, such as cones, balls, and cages; and pops of white flowers. Hundreds of votive candles lined the floral pieces to sure they didn’t get lost in the darkness, glimmering beautifully in the dramatically lit room (illuminated by... Read More

Stunning Ombre at Montage Laguna Beach

April 19, 2024 11:43 am

The usage of ombre is a perfect way to add visual flow and dynamic design to an event. For example, in Courtney and Charles’ wedding, our design incorporated a gradual flow of hot pink to blush pink to ivory flowers all along the wedding aisle, gradually drawing guests’ eyes to the stunning ombre wedding arch. The arch featured the same color palette as the aisle, and formed a ‘ceiling’ of pink orchids sheltering the couple as they exchanged vows. The raised white aisle, clear chairs, and a white grand piano with floral accents rounded out this sophisticated look. The ceremony space overlooked the Montage Laguna’s jaw-droppingly gorgeous fountain and pool. In the ballroom, a rich emerald green created a vibrant... Read More

Spotlight on Green at the Beverly Hills Hotel

Lighting brings dimension and atmosphere to every event. It’s not enough to just dim the ballroom lights – uplights, pinspots, and in the case of Natalie and Michael’s weddings, spotlights add a powerful impact to an event. Good lighting design allows all the other elements, like florals and decor, to really pop. Natalie and Michael wanted tons of green for their wedding. We surrounded the famous rose chandelier in the crystal ballroom with a forests’ worth of greenery, dotted with white flowers. All along the tables, we added cascade after cascade of greenery and white flowers, as well. All this green nicely echoed the vivid green dance floor and drapery. We lined the stage with tons of gold candelabras, standing... Read More

Curves Ahead at Hyatt Aviara

The simple choice of selecting a table can make a big difference in event design. For Kristen and Sean, ‘serpentine’ curved tables created a modern flow to their reception. The white glossy tables also served as the perfect backdrop for our collection of white, ivory, pink and green flowers. Round tables featured tall round centerpieces with the same loose structure as our other arrangements. The gold rimmed chargers and single blush rose bloom at each place setting gave a touch of quiet glamour to the tables. The ceremony featured an arch that would be perfectly at home in an English garden: lots of roses, and tons of greenery, forming a loose, lush focal point to the wedding. And the bride’s... Read More
