A chuppah is typically in the shape of four straight posts with a tallit shawl draped overhead. Among other things, the chuppah symbolizes the wedding couple’s new home that they will create together. This special meaning inspires us to be creative with our chuppahs. For Dorsa and Eliot’s wedding at the Four Seasons Westlake Village, we created gracefully curved branches instead of straight posts. We filled out the frame with lots of eucalyptus and greenery, sprinkled with fresh white flowers. Inside the ballroom, we kept things light and airy with more white florals and baby’s breath, as well as a mix of blush and pink arrangements for additional color. Gorgeous patterned lighting everywhere by Sky Lighting Productions gave additional dimension... Read More

Blush pink ruled the day at Nadeea and Dux’s wedding at Terranea on a sunny, mild October afternoon. For the ceremony by the ocean, we created a frilly combination of orchids and roses on Terranea’s pergola. White chairs and a glossy white aisle provided a crisp counterpoint to the lightness of the flowers. We also oversaw the chic charcoal-black seating chart which held a champagne coupe for each guest! What a fun (and stylish) way to kick off the reception. Inside the ballroom, blush draping and flowers extended the light-pink theme. Tall centerpieces of overflowing flowers including orchids and roses, plus gold and black taper candles created a romantic yet modern feel to the room. We also added a phalaenopsis... Read More

Four Seasons Westlake Village is one of our favorite venues, and we love the feel of their newly renovated event spaces. Trish and Harrison went one step further, turning the Four Season’s chic ballroom into a nightclub for their wedding reception. The glam look started in the indoor ceremony space, with cascade upon cascade of white flowers along a white gate, and again at the wedding arch. The arch had a ‘curtain’ feel, with dainty flowers hanging along the middle. A mirrored catwalk set it all off with its reflective surface, adding a luxe, modern vibe. In the ballroom, gray carpet was installed, and banquettes of black velvet settees, gold metal chairs and glass tables created a cool clubby atmosphere.... Read More

We love cherry blossoms – the perfect combination of pretty blooms and the rusticity of tree branches. Carrie and Dan wanted a natural wood and floral chuppah at their La Quinta Resort wedding; we created a structure with a blend of florals, including lots and lots of cherry blossoms. We also cascaded a lovely unfurling of tons of blush and ivory flowers at the base of the branches, too. Plus, a matching arch greeted guests at the beginning of the aisle. Along the crisp white aisle, we placed boxes holding bursts of more ivory and pink flowers. Inside the stunning ballroom, more branches, including curly willow, formed large arrangements on the round tables, dressed with hanging glass votives. Long wood... Read More

A unique ceremony backdrop is the key to creating a big impact during the exchange of vows. For Carolyne and Ben, we designed a series of crescent shapes encrusted with roses in shades of pink and coral. The result was truly eye popping, adding a sense of modern romance to the ceremony. The reception featured cool grays in the chairs and table tops, a perfect neutral complement to our coral and pink centerpieces. We broke up the pretty pinks with touches of light green hydrangeas and ruscus greenery. The round tables featured coral linens, upon which we perched tall, elegant centerpieces in a mix of light yellow, pink, coral and light green. Adding a modern touch were our gray concrete... Imagine getting married in the middle of December, outdoors, by the ocean. Here in California, it’s totally doable given our mild winters. Arielle and Josh took great advantage of our spring-like winter season, and had a beautiful ceremony right in front of the sea at Terranea. We provided a dreamy, romantic look to go along with their magical day. For the ceremony, we provided aisle pieces and in a mix of light pink, blush, and ivory flowers. Terranea’s ceremony pergola was covered in more flowers, plus pops of phalaenopsis orchids for additional movement and texture. Inside the ballroom, the stage featured a stunning backdrop of more florals, as well as lots more along the edge of the stage for an eye-popping... Read More

For this gorgeous wedding at the Beverly Hilton, we provided a springlike vibe in the middle of autumn. Of course, September in Los Angeles is mild, even hot, some days – so our beautiful florals still had the backdrop of sunshine and clear skies. The focal point for Sara and Kouroush’s celebration was the ceremony chuppah, decorated with tons of greenery and blush, pink, and ivory roses and flowers. Autumn flowers tend to be in rich, deep colors, like red and orange; keeping the color scheme in lighter tones kept the design springy and fresh. We created texture with greenery but didn’t let the greens run too wild, for a classic, not rustic, look. The reception carried over the same... Read More

Gulls Way is a spacious estate right on the Pacific Ocean in Malibu, California. Kelly and Dylan wanted to brig some drama to their beachside wedding by utilizing deep, bold red for their reception, and we were happy to oblige. We created red rose centerpieces that worked beautifully against white linens and black chairs. A gazebo structure formed a rigging point for twinkle lights that sparkled all night. The daytime ceremony called for a lighter, fresher look. Our lush arch of roses and greenery provided a pretty yet substantial backdrop to the couple’s vows. We added more florals at the base of the arch for a grounded feel, and created a matching arrangement in a classic urn for the escort... Read More

Unlikely combinations of colors and textures are what we LIVE for here at Butterfly! When Shirin and Arsalan wanted to bring in black to a rustic theme at their Saddlerock Ranch wedding, we were 100% in. We made the black element work by keeping the rest of the color palette simple: White with greenery. Greenery bought in the rustic texture, and white gave the black a clean-cut, pristine counterpoint. We wound ruscus and white flowers around black arches on their ceremony aisle, and kept the greenery at a minimum for their all-white centerpieces in the reception. This monochromatic approach at the reception let the rustic wood of their tables really shine. The black napkins and chairs at the reception tables... Read More

The Hotel Bel-Air is a legendary A-lister hideaway tucked into the hills of Los Angeles. Lauren and Blake wanted their guests to feel like they were in a lush and beautiful retreat. Their wedding took place at the hotel’s iconic outdoor locations – the lake, inhabited by graceful swans, and a lawn nestled among the hotel, where we hung swathes of greenery and flowers along a wood arbor. Along with twinkle lights that echoed a starry night, the feel was truly that of a magical getaway. The ceremony arch featured lots of greenery and pops of white flowers. In the reception space, we hung tons of ruscus greenery on the trellis over the head table and designed pink and white... Read More
