Our Favorite Wedding Bouquets: From Classic to Bohemian

January 18, 2019 5:46 pm

Butterfly Foral and Event Design owner Inna Savluk personally creates her bride’s bouquets with great care. The bridal bouquet is arguably one of the most important aspects of the wedding design. First, it complements and highlights the wedding dress; second, it’s the only thing the bride holds as she walks down the aisle, making it the most noticeable accent to her dress; and third, they are often preserved as a keepsake to treasure forever. Below are some of our favorite bouquets from past weddings. Classic, Crisp White Often, brides want to stay traditional and have a white bouquet to align with their dress. This bouquet, below, features stunning peonies and roses with pops of texture for a soft yet structured... Read More

Legos and Love at Laguna Cliffs Marriott

June 11, 2024 10:37 am

A weddings can be a perfect showcase for a couple’s personality. Vivian and Sean brought vivid colors and cute details to their big day at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort, starting with vivid summery colors, perfect for the early-fall hot weather so common in our SoCal Septembers. Our transparent mandap wedding ceremony structure gave the illusion that our crown of bright pink, orange, and fuchsia flowers were floating, a cool look that allowed the gorgeous seaside backdrop to really shine during the couple’s wedding ceremony. The vivid color palette worked beautifully against the ornate gold details on the mandap, including the gorgeous chairs that the couple sat upon during the multicultural ceremony. The most charming touch: Lego escort cards! The... Read More

Modern and Mirrored at Hilton San Diego Bayfront

June 4, 2024 10:27 am

Simple doesn’t mean underwhelming, certainly not for this stylish wedding at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront! For their multicultural ceremony, Radhika and Justin wanted lush greenery but not in too rustic a style, sticking to just white for their color palette. For the aisle flowers, we stuck to mostly greenery with a few pops of flowers, and the mirrored pedestals added a sleek edge to the overall feel. Our mandap was mirrored, too, with a generous, full border of white flowers draped across, including graceful strands of white orchids. The mirrored elements literally reflected the water of the bay facing the ceremony space. Focusing on just white for the flowers and using mirrors as an accent gave a sense of... Read More

Sleek, Modern and Stylish at Terranea

May 28, 2024 10:32 am

Sleek, shiny mirrors always bring a modern edge to a wedding. For Cassie and Chuckie’s celebration at Terranea Resort, we constructed a wedding arch of mirrored legs and softened it with a border of roses, hydrangeas, and phalaenopsis orchids, all in crisp white. We clustered a generous border of more white flowers along the base of the arch. Along with the white glossy stage and a glamorous mirrored aisle, the ceremony area had a sophisticated and polished look. We carried this theme into the ballroom, complementing the mirrored tables with more white flowers. The round tables featured tall candlesticks and clusters of smaller white floral arrangements. Single orchids hung delicately from above the dance floor, encircled by a border of... Read More

Delicate Baby’s Breath at the Beverly Hills Hotel

May 21, 2024 3:32 pm

You’ve never seen baby’s breath like this. The delicate flower grows in bunches full of tiny, delicate little blooms. Clustered together, they can be ‘sculpted’ to form beautiful and innovative shapes. For Koko and Victoria’s wedding, baby’s breath was the key to bringing our unique vision to life. We gave the bride an unforgettable backdrop to her preparations, bringing a floral wall into her getting-ready room. We also lined the spiral staircase at the home with white roses, adding a luxe look to her walk down the stairs to her ride for to the church. For the ceremony, we lined the church’s aisle with tasteful blush and ivory roses. Large urns framed the altar. We echoed the look of the... Read More

Classic Black and White at Hummingbird Nest Ranch

May 9, 2024 2:51 pm

Black and white served as a sleek, chic backdrop for Stephanie and Touraj’s Hummingbird Nest Ranch wedding. A multicultural celebration, we provided a thick border of roses and greenery for the Persian sofreh at the ceremony, along with accents of wildflowers, roses, and greenery lining the aisle. While their reception was on the outdoors lawn, it was as sophisticated as the most glamorous ballroom wedding. A black and white checkered dance floor by MTB Rentals set the tone. We followed suit with crisp white florals, set on black linens to continue the look. Lots and lots of candles and chandeliers and twinkle lights by NFP added even more style to the “room” for a super-cool event guests won’t soon forget.... Read More

Beachside Beauty at Terranea

April 30, 2024 12:54 pm

When we think of the beach, we think light, airy, and pretty. That’s exactly what Ramsey and Amy asked for when we designed their July beachside wedding at Terranea Resort. We focused on white cherry blossoms as our main inspiration, creating trees from scratch with branch after branch of this delicate flowering tree. Two trees graced the beginning of their wedding aisle, and more cherry branches perched asymmetrically on the wedding arch that served as a backdrop to their vows. In the ballroom, more trees towered from round gold-and-mirrored tables, complemented by ivory and gold chairs. More white flowers served as ‘runners’ in the middle of long dining tables dressed with crisp ivory linens. And finally, the star of the... Read More

Stunning Ombre at Montage Laguna Beach

April 19, 2024 11:43 am

The usage of ombre is a perfect way to add visual flow and dynamic design to an event. For example, in Courtney and Charles’ wedding, our design incorporated a gradual flow of hot pink to blush pink to ivory flowers all along the wedding aisle, gradually drawing guests’ eyes to the stunning ombre wedding arch. The arch featured the same color palette as the aisle, and formed a ‘ceiling’ of pink orchids sheltering the couple as they exchanged vows. The raised white aisle, clear chairs, and a white grand piano with floral accents rounded out this sophisticated look. The ceremony space overlooked the Montage Laguna’s jaw-droppingly gorgeous fountain and pool. In the ballroom, a rich emerald green created a vibrant... Read More

Curves Ahead at Hyatt Aviara

April 2, 2024 9:58 am

The simple choice of selecting a table can make a big difference in event design. For Kristen and Sean, ‘serpentine’ curved tables created a modern flow to their reception. The white glossy tables also served as the perfect backdrop for our collection of white, ivory, pink and green flowers. Round tables featured tall round centerpieces with the same loose structure as our other arrangements. The gold rimmed chargers and single blush rose bloom at each place setting gave a touch of quiet glamour to the tables. The ceremony featured an arch that would be perfectly at home in an English garden: lots of roses, and tons of greenery, forming a loose, lush focal point to the wedding. And the bride’s... Red Romance at the Majestic Downtown

March 20, 2024 2:07 pm

Red roses signify true love, and we filled Michelle and David ‘s wedding at the Majestic Downtown with tons of them! From the ceremony, where we bordered the chic acrylic chuppah with the crimson blooms, to the reception, where we lined tables and arranged huge centerpieces with more of the gorgeous flowers, red filled every corner. At the reception, black and gold patterned linens and matching menus with a deco-style border fit the vibe of the historical 1920s venue perfectly. We placed large centerpieces featuring a mix of ivory, pink, and red roses on the round tables; we decorated the long mirrored tables with a stylish ombre layout of ivory, pink, and red floral ‘runners.’ For this wedding, red equaled...
