Butterfly Foral and Event Design owner Inna Savluk personally creates her bride’s bouquets with great care. The bridal bouquet is arguably one of the most important aspects of the wedding design. First, it complements and highlights the wedding dress; second, it’s the only thing the bride holds as she walks down the aisle, making it the most noticeable accent to her dress; and third, they are often preserved as a keepsake to treasure forever. Below are some of our favorite bouquets from past weddings. Classic, Crisp White Often, brides want to stay traditional and have a white bouquet to align with their dress. This bouquet, below, features stunning peonies and roses with pops of texture for a soft yet structured... Read More

The San Francisco Design Center is an ideal backdrop for an event, with its streamlined architecture and highceilings. Shivani and Milap kept the palette perfect for the Center’s white walls and blond wood, asking us to work with soft, romantic colors, like blush and ivory. We also wove in lots of greenery, but still kept the overall look tailored, so as not to overwhelm the modern feel of the space. So, while our arch and centerpieces featured tons of texture, they were were still composed with a careful balance of color and texture. We also wove in vivid red astilbe into the bride’s bouquet to echo her stunning wedding attire, and other details—like the stripes of chic black in white... Read More

There’s nothing like a little glam to add excitement and fun to a wedding design. For Rebecca and Ryan, we provided a mirror-covered chuppah bordered with orchids to give that lovely touch of glamour. We surrounded the chuppah’s posts with candles in glass hurricanes for a romantic feel. Mirrored tables and chargers literally reflected our cool white florals in the reception space. A mix of tall and short floral arrangements lined the long tables. White draping surrounded it all to set off the crisp, modern aesthetic. The showstopper was our massive ceiling installation of long, lush orchids. Even though it was the middle of the summer, the all-white mirrored glam made it feel like an idyllic winter wonderland. This wedding combined a fresh, spring-like feel with the ornate decadence of the Banker’s Ballroom in Fresno. Gorgeous, long burgundy curtains and gold ceiling molding set an opulent scene in the space. Matching this look with the floral design could appear too heavy, so our team created arrangements of greenery and white flowers that, while no less dramatic than their surroundings, offered an elegant yet airy feel to the room. At the church, we provided gorgeous urn pieces overflowing with ruscus greenery and matching aisle pieces that hung on every other pew. The bride’s bouquet was bursting with fresh, puffy peonies. Back at the ballroom, a massive head table (for the nearly two-dozen bridal party attendants!) was decked out in... Read More

A fall wedding brings to mind rich autumnal colors, like copper, terra cotta, and goldenrod. For Mercedes and Kyle’s wedding at a private home, we created a gorgeous design full of vibrant textures and shades that brought both a natural charm and easy elegance to their celebration. The backyard of the home featured a pool, and we floated curves of rose petals in golden-yellow and burnt orange. We also lined a rustic wood aisle with arrangements of wildflowers, roses, and greenery in orange, red, coral, and even touches of blue. The dining tables featured tall centerpieces of rustic branches, greenery, and flowers. We also scattered pots in complimentary colors including copper and bronze. A delightful surprise: pots of mini peppers,... Read More

Ojai has a magic feel to it – you’re just a couple hours from the city of Los Angeles, but it feels like it’s in another universe. Lots of rolling hills and an amazing countryside give the property a romantic seclusion – the perfect place to celebrate a wedding. For Dina and Mark’s wedding at the Ojai Valley Inn, we kept things pretty and light with white flowers and greenery. From the hedge behind their seating chart to greenery forming a diamond pattern for a band backdrop, all that foliage gave an organic yet elegant feel to the event. Our chuppah was a grand, stunning structure covered with a varied pattern of greenery and featuring pops of white flowers. Draping... Read More

For this wedding, we got bold! Splashes of pink, orange, coral, and purples blended together in an eye popping design. Olivia and Ari wanted to observe Jewish traditions with a very unique, fun flair, and we dove right into the challenge. The couple chose a black and white harlequin-style pattern for their aisle, emboldened by black ceremony chairs. We provided a high-impact counterpoint to the black with pops of orange, pink, and red flowers along the aisle. The chuppah continued the color theme with a generous application of these shades in a color-block arrangement. Another incredibly cool touch: Inna’s sketch of the ceremony area was featured on the cover of their ceremony program! Our sketches can serve as beloved mementos... Read More

Design is not just about pretty flowers and stunning decor, but about placement of these elements. For Sivart and Adam’s wedding at the Beverly Hills Hotel, a stunning tableau was created by placing the sweetheart table – an elegantly upholstered piece by MTB Rentals – in front of the cake table. Then, we framed this vision with cascades of greenery and white, as well as two pedestals of large urn pieces on either side of the cake. The result is an artful composition with depth and perspective, as well as gorgeous texture thanks to the greenery. Elsewhere throughout their wedding and reception we continued the theme of fresh white flowers with rich vivid greenery, including the church aisle flowers, urns,... Read More

Special touches make a wedding uniquely memorable for every couple. For Sheena and Brian, tropical touches, a champagne tower, and a fuchsia-festooned sofreh made their Hotel Bel Air Wedding truly stand out. The sofreh sat under an arch covered with swathes of hot pink baby’s breath and pops of white orchids. We decorated the sofreh itself with more baby’s breath and tucked in a few tropical leaves to tie into the reception decor. We also displayed a large tropical leaf on the back of the sofreh’s mirror. In the ballroom, we arranged grand centerpieces of tropical leaves, orchids, and accents of more fuchsia, thanks to the addition of ginger flowers. We also lined the wall above the stage with a... Pink comes in so many shades – blush, fuchsia, mauve, hot pink – and the flower world offers lots of variations of this romantic color. So when Shruti and Alec came to us to design their Calamigos Malibu wedding, we couldn’t wait to use the wide spectrum of pinks available to us. First, the ceremony: We built a clear, modern mandap with acrylic and bordered the top with a mix of pink and ivory flowers. We also swagged a beautiful pink-mauve chiffon fabric along the top and sides of the structure. The ceremonial garlands for bride and groom featured purple-white and soft pink carnations, along with perfect stripes of deep green. At the reception, tall centerpieces displayed a variety of...
