There is no more modern a look than a crisp black and white wedding. Dale and Nick wanted this palette at their wedding, allowing us to play with different materials and shapes to bring lots of visual interest to their design. At the ceremony space, we attached sprays of white roses to white metal stands, giving a dimensional look to the end-of-aisle decor. The chuppah echoed this black and white wedding look, too, with more open-air stands with clusters of flowers throughout. Another standout? The gorgeous seating chart in black with white script, and surrounded by more gorgeous clusters of white flowers and tons of candles. In the ballroom, black draping played off of a glossy white dance floor, and... Read More

We transformed the ballroom at the Ritz Laguna to a glam, modern all-white wonderland for Tasneem and Adrian’s wedding. Fluffy white orchids hung over the ballroom, which we turned into a crisp white canvas using a glossy white dance floor, carpet, and draping. Mirrored tables and clear seating continued the cool, clean feel throughout the space, and black chargers grounded the overall look. The Ritz Laguna has a stunning ceremony space with an ocean view, and we collaborated on a lovely sofreh that featured the same materials and flowers as the reception. The acrylic stands on the sofreh kept the look modern and clean, just like in the ballroom. Duke Images captured it all, below. Floral Design: Butterfly Floral and Event... Read More

Calla lilies have long been popular for wedding and event decor, with their sculptural, trumpet-like shape. While their symbolism varies, callas mainly represent life, an affirming meaning especially for a wedding – as two people join together for a new life ahead. Kasey and Evan planned a small wedding at the Montage Laguna Beach, and envisioned the classic elegance of callas for their celebration. We twisted baby callas in hurricanes of water, fashioned large, grand centerpieces of multiple vases of the flowers, and lined the existing bar at the Montage with a stunning all-calla display. Choosing one type of flower – and using lots and lots of them – created a big visual impact for this gorgeously modern affair. Floral... Read More

While this stunning wedding at Hummingbirds Nest Ranch took place in the summer, the aesthetic brought a refreshing cool wintry feel to the event. Ilene and Robert wanted an all white palette with gray and metallic accents. We designed a chuppah with drifts of white orchids; the mirrored legs of the chuppah added a touch of glamour. Candles lined the glossy white aisle for a clean look. In the reception tent, mirrored tables, a metallic stage backdrop, and gunmetal-gray napkins offered brilliant and modern counterpoints to our white florals. Tall centerpieces on the round tables offered height and drama; collections of grand candelabras, tall centerpieces, and vases of flowers like tulips and lisianthus lined the long tables. We love when... Read More

When you first think of a summer wedding, light, bright colors come to mind – whites, pinks, green, yellow. But this wedding at Hummingbird’s Nest Ranch proves that black, yes, black, can add a sophisticated touch to any event. Marjan and Julian chose the broad vistas of Hummingbird’s Nest Ranch for their wedding, the perfect blank canvas for their vision. A large pergola-style structure encompassed a lounge area, tables, and dance floor for the reception; the ceremony featured a mirror walkway, mirrored chuppah, and tons of white flowers, including callas and orchids. Most eye-catching of all, the reception design highlighted chic black touches in the form of black curtains backing the stage, our cylinder and bud vases, and lounge furniture. ... Read More

Simply scroll down through the amazing shots of this special event captured by Dmitry Shumanev Production. The ceremony, held outdoors, was incredibly modern with a stunning acrylic chuppah topped with a wide border of baby’s breath. The backside of the chuppah was enclosed with a wall of greenery where contrasting arrangements of crisp white orchids sat in front to complete the backdrop. An acrylic arch, along with glass vases and transparent chairs, combined with stunning waves of baby’s breath lining the aisle, created a classy and polished setting. Mr.C‘s... Read More
