Luxe Romance at Bel Air Bay Club

October 24, 2023 3:49 pm

Blush, ivory and gold make for a light, yet luxe, color palette, especially for a wedding at such a stunning property as the Bel Air Bay Club. We created a lovely frame to the couple’s gorgeous sofreh with tall centerpieces with composed round arrangements; and larger arrangements at the end of the aisle. In the ballroom, we complimented gleaming mirrored tables and upholstered, gold-trimmed chairs with cascades of roses spilling over long tables. Tall centerpieces in tightly composed arrangements stood on the round tables. And the sweetheart table was over-the-top gorgeous with a lush display of more florals. As always, pillar and votive candles completed the look, adding a romantic glamour to the ballroom. Check out more lovely gorgeousness, below!... Read More

Secluded Romance in Ojai

July 11, 2023 1:21 pm

Ojai has a magic feel to it – you’re just a couple hours from the city of Los Angeles, but it feels like it’s in another universe. Lots of rolling hills and an amazing countryside give the property a romantic seclusion – the perfect place to celebrate a wedding. For Dina and Mark’s wedding at the Ojai Valley Inn, we kept things pretty and light with white flowers and greenery. From the hedge behind their seating chart to greenery forming a diamond pattern for a band backdrop, all that foliage gave an organic yet elegant feel to the event. Our chuppah was a grand, stunning structure covered with a varied pattern of greenery and featuring pops of white flowers. Draping... Read More

Spring-like White at Hummingbird Nest Ranch

June 27, 2023 3:35 pm

Juliana and Will chose springtime flowers like tulips for their wedding at Hummingbird Nest Ranch. The result was pretty and stylish, with a modern spin – like the elegant bunches of calla lilies tied to the chiavari chairs along the wedding aisle. The chuppah was clear acrylic, allowing guests to see through it to the awe-inspiring view of mountains behind the Villa ceremony patio. We encrusted the top of the chuppah with dripping orchids, phalaenopsis orchids, and roses. We also decorated a custom wood display of shelves where guests found their escort cards with sprays of white flowers on each corner. Guests’ tables had crisp white linens and clusters of glass vases of roses and tulips. Gold rimmed chargers and... Read More

Black, White, and Rustic at Saddlerock Ranch

January 3, 2023 1:25 pm

Unlikely combinations of colors and textures are what we LIVE for here at Butterfly! When Shirin and Arsalan wanted to bring in black to a rustic theme at their Saddlerock Ranch wedding, we were 100% in. We made the black element work by keeping the rest of the color palette simple: White with greenery. Greenery bought in the rustic texture, and white gave the black a clean-cut, pristine counterpoint. We wound ruscus and white flowers around black arches on their ceremony aisle, and kept the greenery at a minimum for their all-white centerpieces in the reception. This monochromatic approach at the reception let the rustic wood of their tables really shine. The black napkins and chairs at the reception tables... Read More

Taking the Church Outside at Saddlerock Ranch

December 20, 2022 1:18 pm

During the COVID lockdown, many churches were closed for health and safety reasons. Priscilla and Will wanted to bring the church outside for their wedding – and we were thrilled to help set the scene! The couple rented church pews for ceremony seating (courtesy of Found Rentals) and we created a beautiful backdrop consisting of wood pieces echoing the stained glass windows of a traditional church. Tons of greenery and white flowers accented the arches. We also added an arch at the end of the aisle featuring actual doors – just like the entrance of a church. The reception space was a beautiful tent with swagging and more greenery. A black and white scheme reflected in chameleon chairs, linens, and... Read More

Pretty Romance at Calamigos Ranch

December 2, 2022 1:07 pm

Calamigos Ranch offers a whimsical, pastoral venue for weddings. Jessika and Adrian married among the dreamy trees and hanging lights in the Pavilion ceremony space; then, guests partied among nearby carnival rides and under Calamigos’ elegant tent. Our round ceremony structure, decorated with white roses, served as a dramatic backdrop for the couple. The natural mix of white flowers and greenery continued through the cocktail hour and reception space. We dressed the fireplace mantel with lots of gorgeous flowers, and moved the ceremony backdrop to the reception space to add visual impact to the sweetheart table. Modern Luxury at Stone Mountain

July 19, 2022 12:54 pm

Los Angeles is known for its unique wedding venues, and Stone Mountain provides yet another one-of-a-kind space to celebrate. Tucked in the mountains near Malibu, this intimate space offers stunning views and a beautiful round stone helipad. Stone Mountain is perfect for smaller events, and often requires a ‘flip’ of the space from ceremony to reception, but Anna and Alexander wanted to have separate ceremony and reception spaces, so they covered the pool on property. We created a grand pink and ivory ceremony arch against crisp white drapery for a high-impact look with modern touches. The reception space took place on the round stone helipad, with sail-like drapery providing shade for guests. Tall centerpieces matching the ceremony florals carried through... Read More

Summertime Beauty at Four Seasons Westlake

June 3, 2022 12:29 pm

The lush lawn at the Four Seasons Westlake set the scene for Alla and Alano’s summery wedding. Cream and ivory flowers with pops of lavender and greenery created a light yet luxurious look to the wedding. For the ceremony, we built a freestanding circular arch, echoing the symbol of the wedding ring for a poetic touch. The couple provided guests with tossing petals on an antique cart, which we dressed with more flowers and greenery; and we flanked the aisle with lush wildflowers. For the outdoor reception we designed both tall and low centerpieces with a mix of roses, tulips, and orchids. The tall pieces consisted of full arrangements of flowers, and modern candleholders dressed with phaelenopsis orchids. The final... Read More

Rustic, Antique Touches at Hummingbird Nest Ranch

March 22, 2022 5:31 pm

Every couple wants their guests to feel at home at their wedding – a space with character. For their Hummingbird Nest Ranch wedding, Karen and Parham worked with us to create a warm, lovely feel with generously flowing greenery, pops of white flowers, and rustic wood touches from A Rental Connection. From the round wood bar to our charming lanterns, to the exquisite chuppah with rows of roses wrapping its posts, the feel was custom, personal, and welcoming. We lined each table with full floral centerpieces continuing the greenery and rose motif; and we decorated the gates leading to the Villa space’s ceremony area with more florals. Another unique touch: Our carved wood pillar holders. They have an antique feel... Read More

Classic Drama at a Private Estate

December 14, 2021 4:11 pm

A grand staircase. A chuppah fringed with wind-catching flowers. A manicured lawn with a stunning view. Private homes, like the estate where Natalie and Alen wed, offer unique opportunities to our creative team. The property featured wide expanses of lawn and landscaping, allowing us to build a grand chuppah with lengths of orchids to freely move with the breeze. Inside the property, the foyer staircase became the perfect first-look location; we lined the rail with a luxurious layer of white flowers, including roses and orchids. A generous urn piece of white roses stood directly under the house’s stunning chandelier for a picture-perfect start to the bride and groom’s big day. We accented the reception lawn, dressed with gold and white... Read More
